About

My name is Amelia and I have been working as a Therapist for over 10 years and have gained a huge amount of experience working with clients of all genders for Individual, Group and Family Therapy. I offer retreats, talks, and workshops.

I attended a workshop led by Joy Schaverien approximately 7 years ago, which alerted me to the incredible work that both she and Nick Duffell have been doing to support ex- boarders and make the public aware of some of the negative impacts Boarding School may have on children and how this can show up in adults. I am an ex-boarder myself and through my own therapy and working alongside Nick Duffell, I have been able to fully understand how my own childhood experiences impacted me and have been able to find my own way home.

I live and work in Brighton and Hove, attend regular supervision, and have professional liability insurance. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and work within their ethical framework for good practice.

I have experience in both private practice and in various different settings. They include:

  • 10 years of  1:1 Therapy to individuals of all genders.

  • A Tutor on the Person-Centred Foundation Degree course at East Sussex College.

  • Delivered “Boarding School Survivors” Workshops for Online Events.
