For previous participants of Healing Beyond Boarding School and my 6 month Courses who would like continued connection and support…
A community for everyone who wants to continue doing the work and making changes.
When my course comes to an end, it takes a bit of time to adjust to not being part of the group you once were.
There may have been a part of you that was relieved to have got to the end but you may be missing the connection and not feeling like you were alone. Remembering how it felt to be connected with others who were in the same boat, who "got it," and you didn't feel in isolation with this.
However much some of you hoped you would be "fixed" by the end of the course, this work is ongoing. You now understand why you are the way you are, why you have taken on certain patterns of behaviour and what you want to change. The hardest bit is continuing to make the changes and not fall back into old coping strategies.
You still know what you’ve learned but you’re no longer in a space where it is being spoken about, shared or understood by others in the same way.
What the Community is
Life keeps moving. Relationships change or break down. Children grow up. Parents get older. And if you went to boarding school, you may find yourself meeting these things differently to the people around you, carrying them through a particular lens that most people in your life do not share.
I know from my own experience how essential it is to have somewhere to continue being open, to share honestly what is difficult as well as what is good, with people who see life through that same shared childhood lens. To continue to relinquish the shame that so many of us have carried about our own responses and ways of being. To feel accepted, seen and understood by others who genuinely get it.
Beyond the Blueprint is a community space for those who have been through my programme and do not want to lose the thread of what began there. A place to stay connected, to myself and to each other, as you continue to make the changes that matter to you.
You will be alongside others who are somewhere on the same journey, whether they are a few weeks into the programme or a few years beyond it.
My intention is for those of us who went to boarding school and have had the courage to look at what it cost us to keep going the way we did, to continue to have that sense of belonging that so many of us never quite found anywhere else.
What the monthly call looks like
Once a month we come together as a group on Zoom. The call runs for sixty minutes, with an optional thirty minute extension for those who want to stay on and go further.
Each call has a clear shape. We open with a short settling. I offer a psychoeducation piece on a theme drawn from the territory of this work, things like grief, relationships, identity, the pull back to old coping strategies, what keeps us stuck. Then a reflective exercise. Then Q&A, where you can bring what is current for you, ask questions, or simply listen and recognise yourself in what others are bringing.
There are two time options each month to make attendance possible wherever you are.
Wednesdays 8am UK, Europe and East Coast US friendly.
Wednesdays 7pm UK, friendly for those in the UK who cannot make a daytime call, and accessible for Australia and New Zealand.
What else is included
A WhatsApp community A more immediate space for contact, support and connection as life happens. Within this there are optional smaller groups, a women's group, a men's group, and a space for those who have already completed the full programme, where conversations can go a little deeper without needing to start from the beginning.
Access to me The opportunity to stay connected to my reflections, teaching and ongoing work, and to bring questions into the space. Optional single session therapy is also available separately, subject to availability, and charged at my current session rate.
Continued access to the full course. (Previously named Healing Beyond Boarding School). You will keep access to all course modules, including any future updates, so you can return to the material whenever it becomes relevant again. The same content lands differently at different stages of your life.
Annual in-person gathering in Brighton A chance to come together in person and deepen the connections made online. Date for your diary: Saturday 28th November.
Priority access to workshops and events You hear about anything new first, and you have first access to book.
Dedicated community support A community manager supports the day to day running of the space, so it stays welcoming, safe and connected, and nothing gets lost.
What this space offers
This is a quieter, ongoing space for those who have been through my work and do not want to lose the thread of what began there.
Many people recognise how quickly old coping strategies can reassert themselves without some structure, reflection or connection around them. Life moves on, things get busy again, and it can be easy to slip back into familiar ways of surviving.
This space exists to support you in continuing to live what you already know, and to help you keep making the changes that matter to you.
A place where you can:
Stay connected to people who genuinely understand the impact of boarding school.
Bring real life situations as they arise, rather than sitting with them alone for months.
Ask questions, share reflections, or simply listen when that is what you need.
Continue deepening your understanding without committing to another programme.
Feel less alone in patterns that can otherwise be difficult to explain to anyone outside this work.
Revisit the course material at different stages of your life and find it landing in new ways.
Be honest without having to explain yourself from the beginning every time.
This is not about endlessly revisiting the past. It is about continuing to move forward with greater awareness, connection and choice.
For previous participants of Healing Beyond Boarding School and my 6 month courses.
You are invited to join from the 1st of August, a month before the next programme begins.
There will be an opening call on Wednesday 5th August, and a further call on Tuesday 26th August, only for previous participants.
This gives you a chance to settle in and reconnect with others before those taking part in the new programme join in September.
Join the Priority list below to find out about intro calls in June.
Investment:
£39 per month
This is a simple monthly membership that gives you continued access to the space, the community, and the work.
To put that into context, it is less than half the cost of a single therapy session,
while allowing you to remain connected to the process over time.
A final note
You can stay for as long as it feels useful to you, and you are free to leave at any time.
If part of you recognises the importance of staying connected then this space is here for you.
About Amelia
Amelia White is a therapist, facilitator, and writer specialising in the long-term impact of boarding school. She has worked in this field for over 15 years in individual therapy, through her online programme Healing Beyond Boarding School, and through training and workshops for therapists. She trained with Nick Duffell, the pioneer of this work, and has contributed to The Un-Making of Them (Routledge). She is currently writing a book on healing for ex-boarders of all genders.
Amelia is an ex-boarder herself and she knows what it is to have grown up inside that particular culture. The self-sufficiency it demanded, the grief is suppressed, and the patterns that followed her long after she left. That personal knowledge and development, alongside her clinical training and years of practice, shapes her work
Her work creates a space for ex-boarders to tell their stories honestly, to understand how their early experiences shaped them, to release the shame that was never theirs to carry, and to begin building the relationships and ways of being they have always wanted but never felt possible.
She lives in Brighton, a passionate sea swimmer and is quietly proud of raising three daughters who call the city home.
