A free online workshop You have built a life and you have achieved things. From the outside, it might look fine.

Yet underneath, something doesn't quite add up. Relationships feel harder than they should. There is a restlessness you can't quite explain. A low hum of something unresolved that has been there so long you have almost stopped noticing it. Something is missing but you don’t know what.

If you recognise that, this workshop is for you.

What this is

In 75 minutes I will walk you through a framework that explains where these patterns may come from, why they make complete sense, and what becomes possible when you finally understand them properly.

We will look at the blueprint you were given at boarding school. The instructions that were never written down but were completely clear. Work hard. Achieve. Be self-reliant. Do not make a fuss. Keep going.

That blueprint may have worked for a while. It got you through school, through early adulthood, through building a career and a life.

The problem is that nobody told you it had an expiry date.

This workshop is about what life looks like on the other side of it.

A note on the blueprint for women

The blueprint looked different depending on whether you were a boy or a girl at school.

For men it was explicit: achieve, lead, be tough, contain your feelings, do not show weakness.

For women it was more insidious. It asked for all of that and also for something else. Be socially capable. Manage the mood of the group. Be competent without being threatening. Take care of everyone around you and make it look effortless. The Good Girl. The Caretaker. The one who kept everything running smoothly and never once appeared to struggle.

This workshop speaks to both experiences, and names them separately where it matters.

What you will leave with

A framework that finally makes sense of patterns you have been trying to change for years. And a clearer picture of what becomes possible when you stop simply coping and start understanding what has been driving it.

This is for you if

You are an ex-boarder who recognises some or all of this:

You are good at getting on with things, but parts of your life feel harder than they should. Relationships, closeness, knowing what you actually want. You have achieved a lot and yet something underneath has never quite settled. You are tired of understanding things intellectually without seeing real change in how you feel or live.

You do not need to be in crisis to come. You just need to recognise that something has not felt quite right for a long time.

What people find, on the other side

Those who go on to do this work more deeply tend to find:

They feel more connected in relationships. The critical inner voice quietens. They become less dependent on approval from others. They are able to ask for help without dreading it. They begin to understand why they react the way they do. And something that has been missing for a long time begins, quietly, to come back.

  What past participants say

“The low-lying feeling of emptiness that had followed me through my life has quietened. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Beyond the Blueprint participant

“Validation, community, self-awareness, emotional expansion, freedom. I wish I had done it sooner.”

Beyond the Blueprint participant

“It helps make sense of so much and untangle the pieces.”

About Amelia

I am a therapist, facilitator and writer specialising in the long-term impact of boarding school. I have worked in this field for over fifteen years, trained with Nick Duffell, and contributed to The Un-Making of Them published by Routledge. I am currently writing a book on this subject.

I am also an ex-boarder myself. I know this territory from the inside as well as professionally, and that shapes everything about how I work
