About Amelia
Amelia White is an experienced psychotherapist and tutor with over 15 years’ experience working across charities and organisations, including the NHS and the University of Brighton. She has specialist training in psychotherapy with ex-boarders, which she undertook with Nick Duffell, and now offers individual therapy, courses and workshops for both ex-boarders and therapists.
As an ex-boarder herself, Amelia is deeply committed to looking beyond the narrative of “privilege” to explore the lasting impact of early attachment disruption. She supports ex-boarders in developing a deeper awareness of how their schooling has shaped them, helping them to tell their stories, express long-held feelings and release shame. Through this process, clients begin to rebuild trust in themselves and others, changng their behaviour patterns which allows more connected, fulfilling relationships and ways of being.
Outside of her work, Amelia is often found by the water in her hometown of Brighton, where she is a passionate sea swimmer. Above all, she prioritises parenting her three daughters and has really valued watching them grow up feeling rooted in a place they call home.
